Shot Glass Stuffed Beast Sliders

Shot glass sliders… what?  These little burgers have big taste, and they’ll add some fun to your grilling game.  We like ‘em stuffed with onions, mushrooms, and cheese, and the Grill Beast is firing up some now.  Watch how they’re done, because once you taste ‘em, you’re going to be hooked! They bring a whole new meaning to “cheers!”

Ingredients:

For the stuffing:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

For the burgers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Shredded sharp cheese
  • 6 slider buns

Directions:

For the stuffing:

  1. Melt the oil and better in a medium skillet on your grill
  2. Add in the onions and cook until softened
  3. Add the mushrooms and cook with onions, stirring often, until mushrooms are golden. Remove from the grill and set aside.

 

For the burgers:

  1. Fire up the grill for indirect cooking.
  2. Separate the beef into six 2 1/2 ounce meatballs.
  3. Push a shot glass into the middle of the meatball, making a little bowl, and wrap the meat around the outside of the shot glass. Make sure not to press down too hard or you will puncture the bottom. Save a small amount of beef to make "lids" on the burgers.
  4. Spoon the mushrooms and onions into the bowls (you can put the cheese inside with the mushrooms and onions -or- you can top the burger with cheese at the end.. your choice!)
  5. Use the remaining beef to make lids on your sliders and pack together tightly.
  6. Place sliders on the grill over indirect heat and grill until the burgers are at the desired doneness. 
  7. Top the buns with the sliders and any condiments you like and enjoy!
