Dave Johnson’s passion for grilling and smoking soon became not just a way to cook, but a way of life. That was the genesis for Grill Beast, which was always about family and friends. In fact it was a group of Dave’s family and friends who named the company, after a list of names was generated and then narrowed down by the group. It was the perfect way to represent and accomplish what Dave and his family wanted to do in the grilling community--to turn the average griller into a beast on the grill!

Grill Beast designs, manufactures, and sells high-quality barbecue and grilling accessories through retail and online marketing, including their own website and other online marketplaces. The product line is fast becoming a standard for excellence in backyards across the country; just what Dave was going for.

Grill Beast was started in May of 2014, just as grilling season was getting started that year. Dave’s highest priorities have always been to serve the grilling community through positive support and teachings, to give them a sound foundation to both start and grow, and to provide them with high quality grilling tools to achieve their goals. Grill Beast manufactures only the highest quality tools that not only last a lifetime, but that can actually be handed down to the next generation of grillers.

Meet David Johnson the man dedicated to helping grillers become BEASTS on the grill.

David Johnson has been an enthusiastic entrepreneur for his entire life, from chopping wood and mowing neighborhood lawns as a kid to home remodeling and construction, eventually starting his own internet marketing company. While he loved what he was able to do for other brands, Dave really wanted to build his own brand; a business with real meaning for him. He sold his internet marketing company in 2008 and took some time to decide how he could make a difference in people’s lives and do something he really enjoyed at the same time.

Outside of the career he had created while selling and marketing, grilling was one thing that really fired his passion. It was his favorite pastime and he was good at it. And then it hit him--why not develop his passion for grilling into his own company? Why not create a community of people who shared this passion?

And that’s where the idea for Grill Beast was born.

Through Grill Beast, Dave’s main focus was to help people become better and more confident grillers. He thought about how, at many gatherings that he went to, he noticed that most of the event took place inside the house, while the grill sat cold outside. Dave also saw that there were few online groups for grillers to learn without criticism when they didn’t understand grilling techniques or grilling lingo. He wanted to create an online community for like-minded grillers to gather which would help novices along with experienced grillers, and everyone in between. That way grillers could ask questions, get advice and support, as well as exchange ideas.

Dave began Grill Beast in May 2014. It represented everything he wanted to achieve. With Grill Beast, he began a company where he could give people the most value through something that he was passionate about. He wanted to serve the community and his customers better than anyone else and to provide the highest quality grilling tools around.

Grill Beast’s first product, the BEAST Injector, was launched in August 2014.

The Grill Beast team strives to provide customer service beyond all others. All Grill Beast products come with a lifetime satisfaction guarantee. If someone is not satisfied with a product or wants to return it for any reason whatsoever, even if they just don’t like it, Grill Beast will either issue a refund or immediately send out a new product, no questions asked. If there's something a customer doesn’t understand about their product, all they have to do is call and someone at Grill Beast, often Dave himself, is there to answer.

Grill Beast markets and advertises its products through various avenues - its own website, online marketplaces, social media, online advertising, and much by word of mouth from people who follow Grill Beast and purchase its products. Grill Beast is also starting to branch out into retail stores. And Grill Beast’s Facebook VIP page has given grillers an online meeting place, where they can learn, teach, show off what they grilled or smoked that day and get lots of accolades for a job well done.

“Grill Beast customers are the best,” Dave says. These customers don’t just purchase a product and you never hear from them again. They become part of the Grill Beast community. Many have become friends. They have a sincere love of grilling, of Dave’s products, and of being part of the Grill Beast family.

And Grill Beast has a pretty wide range of customers. “Grillers and smokers are such a diverse group of people,” says Dave, “They come from all walks of life. Every culture, every career, every economic rung of the ladder. Some Grill Beast customers are hardcore grillers, who grill and smoke all the time. Some do competitions. And then there are also plenty of Grill Beast customers who are very new to grilling, or novice grillers, not necessarily great at grilling, but they want to be. Some Grill Beast customers are even vegetarians.”

Grill Beast has done what it set out to do--to bring all of these people together. Grill Beast’s Facebook VIP page has given grillers an online meeting place, where they can learn, teach, show off what they grilled or smoked that day and get lots of accolades for a job well done.

Dave sees more success and growth in the future of Grill Beast. And by “success,” Dave means that he wants to be fulfilled by his work. Happy.
